I had been using the Chromebook Flip C101PA mainly for browsing the web and editing documents, so I didn’t notice any issues. However, when I plugged in headphones, the sound didn’t switch to the headphones and continued to play from the device’s speakers. This meant I couldn’t play audio externally, which was a problem.
I tried resetting the Chromebook, but the issue persisted.
After some research, I found reviews mentioning repair costs, which made me uneasy. Despite trying various fixes, the problem remained unresolved.
Realizing repair was the only option, I contacted ASUS.
If resetting doesn’t resolve the issue, it’s likely a hardware problem. Please send the device to our repair center for inspection. If it’s within the warranty period (one year from purchase), and there’s no external damage, the repair will be free. Otherwise, it will be a paid repair.
In short, if the device is within the warranty period and undamaged, repairs are free. With some hesitation, I decided to send it in.
Fortunately, I had kept the receipt.
Once prepared, I used Yamato Transport’s PC delivery service to send the device. The packaging materials were provided by them.
After a while, ASUS responded:
Inspection Results The issue was confirmed, but we lack replacement stock. We will proceed with repairs. If you agree, the device will be shipped within three business days. If not, we can offer a refund.
Initially, I was confused by the term “pure box.” It turned out to mean the original packaging. Since I didn’t have it, I opted for repair. Despite some concerns, the repair was completed successfully and free of charge.
The device was returned safely.
