This blog is completely built on AWS, but considering the pricing and ease of use, I’m migrating to Google’s services!
So, as a first step, I’ll transfer the domain acquired through Route53
to Google Domains
.
I’ll proceed assuming you already have a Google
account.
After logging in to Google Domains
, select Transfer
.
After selecting Transfer
, you should see a screen like this.
What you need here are the authentication code from Route53
and to unlock the transfer lock.
Next, we’ll proceed with this work in AWS.
If Transfer lock
is enabled, disable it.
Select the link to get the code in the Authorization code
section. Paste the code that appears into the Google Domains
field we saw earlier.
This completes the work on the AWS side.
You’ll be asked to copy and let Google manage my DNS settings
, and since this is the recommended setting, choose this option unless you have a specific reason not to.
It’s wonderful that Google handles everything for you.
This completes the process.
Now, you just need to wait for Google to finish the setup.
